Canterbury can offer a perfect weekend destination – great shops, an eclectic mix of restaurants, combined with the historic Cathedral, Roman remains and Museums – make it a great place to visit.

As a vibrant University City, there are numerous events and festivals organised throughout the year and just 15 minutes away is the bustling coastal town of Whitstable, famous for its oysters and award winning places to eat.

So whether you are just passing through en route from or to the Port of Dover (a 20 minute drive), making a day trip from London (new fast rail link means the Capital is now less than an hour’s journey), visiting those hard working student sons or daughters at the University, or wanting to see the magnificent architecture of the Cathedral, there is lots to offer if you are a tourist, a day tripper or a weekend visitor.
